Common questions

Can I stack a savings card with my private insurance?

Often, because the manufacturer programmes are designed to sit alongside a plan rather than replace it, but the exact rules depend on your plan and the programme. Public plans are the exception: the Ozempic card generally cannot be combined with ODB, NIHB or BC PharmaCare. Confirm with the programme before you fill.

Are there provinces where these cards do not work?

Yes. The Ozempic savings card excludes Quebec, and Quebec’s own rules on pharmacist fees mean the cash prices there are the real prices. The other programmes we list do not publish province restrictions.

Do I have to enrol before I fill the prescription?

It depends on the programme. The Ozempic card is applied at the counter with nothing to pre-register. The Zepbound programme asks you to enrol first at its own site. For assistance programmes there is an application rather than a card. The programme detail below says which is which.

Are the prices on this site already discounted?

No. Every pharmacy figure on this site is a cash price before any programme. The With-the-programme column shows what a card does to that number, and only prints a dollar figure where the programme itself publishes the basis for one.
